before moving on to Mono Lake,
and passing through Yosemite National Park at dusk
on the way to Mariposa, California.
Now entering Inyo National Forest, Land of Many Uses.
We make a pit stop at the Benton Station Cafe in Benton, California.
Warm August on the road,
we enjoy a little something special,
the chill of a tasty ice cream sundae.
Mono Lake can be seen in the distance.

Leaving Lee Vining and Mono Lake behind,
we take the open Tioga Pass into Yosemite National Park.
In the snowy months, the Tioga Pass may be closed.
We pass a series of tunnels at just before sunset.
Taking a moment to enjoy the view and the fresh air.
Alright! We made it!
We arrive at the Butterfly Ranch at just before dark.
We spend the next few days exploring Yosemite National Park and Mariposa,
enjoying the locale, nature, the fresh air,
playing with the dogs,
and days of sleeping in hammocks under the shooting starry night sky.
